Former West Ham star Don Hutchison believes Bruno Fernandes is a great prospective signing for Manchester United - but Europe’s elite wouldn’t sign him. Hutchison is adamant that Fernandes has all the makings of a “sensational signing” for United but doesn’t think Liverpool, Real Madrid or Barcelona would be looking at him. The attacking midfielder is the Red Devils’ top target amid the ongoing January transfer window as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is desperate for reinforcement in midfield. Hutchison believes the Portugal international would be the perfect solution as he reminds him a lot of Chelsea great Frank Lampard. The former Everton midfielder believes the 25-year-old has the same ability to move the ball and score goals as Blues hero Lampard did in his glory years. The 48-year-old admits Fernandes is not exactly the same as the Chelsea manager but he is the closest player he could compare him to. Hutchison, though, claims that for all of his talent the Portuguese sensation would’t be a top target for other European heavy hitters like the Reds, Barcelona and Real. Hutchison told BBC Radio 5 Live Sport: “Absolutely, very talented player. “I think if people haven’t seen him play before, I think you can liken him to a Frank Lampard - [he] gets goals from midfield, he plays the game and the game comes to him very easily.
